Urban League of Greater Kansas City KCP&L Utility Assistance

Urban League of Greater Kansas City

KCP&L Utility Assistance Program
After a very hot summer, many of our customers are struggling with higher than usual utility bills. As part of our Connections program, KCP&L established a Family Relief Fund for eligible families. The program will end October 31, 2012 and we still have funds available. As a leader with one of our community partners, I ask that you help us  increase awareness among your clients that may be eligible.
In summary, the Family Relief Fund is set up for lower-income families with a dependent (under 18) living at home. If approved, customers will receive a one-time-only, $150 credit applied to their KCP&L account. We established the fund to assist approximately 3,000 families in our service territory.

Click here to download the application and terms & conditions. Those that may be eligible just need to complete the application, locate the required documentation and mail it directly to the Salvation Army. If approved, the credit will be made to the account. There are other utlity assistance options available with our Connections program and here is the link: http://www.kcplsave.com/residential/connections/default.html
Thanks in advance for helping us expand this program. Let me now if you have any questions.
