Health Clinic To Open Soon: 89th & Troost

News Shared by the Marlborough Coalition:

The new health clinic at 89th & Troost, to be operated by Swope Health Services, is nearing completion and is on target to open in December
2010.

Here’s the progress:

*New sidewalks installed
*Parking lot paved and striped with landscape islands in stalled
*Monument sign in place, painted and now ready for installation of SHS logo and
clinic name
*Cabinets, ceiling tiles and floor tiles in the bathrooms to be installed this week
*Door frames installed and painted
*Interior walls primed, with painting to begin later this week.

Stay tuned! We’ll let you know when this facility is ready to
accept patients!

Free Admission to Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for Military

This Saturday, November 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is having a Military Appreciation Day. Admission is free for all active and inactive military personnel and up to two guests.

This event includes storytelling by Emmy Winning storyteller Bobby Norfolk (at 2:00 p.m.), music, and theater.

Nov. 4th Free Family Science Night at the KC Zoo

This Thursday night, November 4, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Kansas City Zoo is hosting a free Family Science Night. This is one in a series of hands-on Zoo science nights for families.

The November 4th Family Science Night theme is Crazy Chemistry. Kids will make a soup soufflé, find out about elastic elements, and solve the mystery of plastics. The National Aeronautic Space Administration will create a planetarium to show kids the chemistry of the sky.
