The Emergency Homeowners Loan Program (EHLP) was created to help homeowners who are temporarily and involuntarily unemployed or underemployed due to economic or a medical condition, and are at risk of foreclosure. Eligible homeowners may receive up to $50,000 in emergency assistance.
EHLP will pay a portion of an approved applicant’s monthly mortgage including missed mortgage payments or passed due charges including principal, interest, taxes, and insurance. EHLP expects to aid up to 30,000 distressed borrowers (nationwide), with an average loan of $35,000.
The State of Missouri will receive 401 loans. Anyone interested in this program must complete the attached Pre-application Screening Worksheet and submit to the Greater Kansas City Housing Information Center, an approved EHLP agency:
