Missouri needs 1,000 Outdoor Ambassadors ages 17-24

The state of Missouri wants to hire teens and young adults this summer as "outdoor ambassadors" at 85 parks and historic sites. Work done by the State Parks Youth Corps will include building or repairing trails, maintenance and landscaping, documenting and recording animal species at parks, and assisting with the planning and implementation of outdoor programs including the Katy Trail State Park bicycle ride. The program is being funded by federal money through the Workforce Investment Act and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. State park staff and counselors will select applicants for the positions.

· Pay is $7.25 an hour
· May 1 through Sept. 30, 2010
· Eligible for up to 240 hours of work
